Caribbean Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Seminar (HADR 2018)

The 2017 hurricane season was one of the most devastating on record for nations of the Eastern Caribbean. CDEMA had primary responsibility for coordinating emergency relief effort to 18 participating states. US assistance efforts to the Caribbean were led by the Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA). The US Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM), in keeping with its focus area of rapid response, supported recovery efforts on behalf of the US Department of Defense.

This seminar provides participants an opportunity to review disaster response efforts from the 2017 hurricane season and to prepare Caribbean and US humanitarian affairs forces for the 2018 season.
