WJPC Job Opening: Assistant Research Fellow

We are seeking to fill an Assistant Research Fellow position with responsibility of conducting research, coordination of activities and management of databases in support of the Perry Center's Governance Program. Applicants must have demonstrated experience in field and desk research to include data collection, management and analysis on defense and security governance reform cases. As an Assistant Research Fellow, the incumbent will be responsible for producing quality reports, briefings, publications, and other materials.

The William J. Perry Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies (WJPC) is the Department of Defense's premier regional forum offering strategic level defense and security education, research assistance and dialog regarding the development of effective security policy within the Western Hemisphere. The Center's civilian and military graduates and partner institutions comprise communities of influence that work toward a more cooperative and stable international security environment. The Center's substantive offerings are organized within three Academic Programs: Transnational Threats, Human Rights, and Governance.

Position requires an earned Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (or international equivalent) in an appropriate discipline such as international security (defense/war) studies, international relations/affairs, public policy, and/or public management. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of relevant professional expertise or experience, excellent written and verbal communications skills in English and Spanish, A record of high quality, shared and independent analytic research skills, and a record of high quality in writing and engagement.
